Safety and Quality Program

Astro Pak Corporation maintains the highest level of commitment to excellence in customer service. We pride ourselves on providing a unique experience for our customers that we call Plus One Service. Every Astro Pak employee, from Technician to President, is expected to provide a level of excellence in service consistent with our mission statement:

Astro Pak will always meet then exceed our customers’ expectations for the purpose of creating a new standard of excellence.

One aspect of providing Plus One Service is to be certain that we provide the highest level of service quality. This is accomplished in several ways. First, Astro Pak employees participate in a rigorous training program that is designed to impart a core of technical knowledge which is second to none in the industry. This training program also addresses the elements of excellent customer service as well. Employees are required to demonstrate competence in core subjects prior to working as well as re-certifying their knowledge by examination on an annual basis. Examples of the core subjects include: The Fundamentals of Cleaning, which covers the nomenclature, theories, and physics germane to the subject of cleaning; Ultrasonic Cleaning, which explains in great detail the theory, physics, advantages and limitations of this method of cleaning; Flow-Through Cleaning, which teaches the employee the background information necessary to clean and verify a fluid or gas system which will not be disassembled into component parts. Other subjects include Acid – Base Chemistry, Passivation, and Pharmaceutical Cleaning and Passivation.

The next way in which we assure consistent excellence in service quality is through a comprehensive Quality Assurance program. Our Quality Assurance managers are charged with maintaining the highest level of service quality and given the tools and authority to do just that. Astro Pak also utilizes a modern infrastructure which includes a company-wide Intranet that allows for efficient communications among personnel at various locations. The ability to share information quickly and easily allows for the rapid development of best practices as well as assuring that we provide uniform service regardless of which location is providing the service.

Astro Pak Corporation is also committed to safety in the workplace. Our goal is to completely eliminate the occurrence of injuries and accidents in the workplace. In order to make progress in meeting this goal, Astro Pak employs a variety of methodologies: training, equipment, planning, and motivation. We have a program of initial and ongoing safety training that requires personnel to demonstrate competence in a variety of relevant subjects. Each Safety Training Module is written to assure that Astro Pak personnel have the information that they need to work safely regardless of where they may be working – whether at our shop or in a customer’s facility. On-site and in-house safe behavior reinforcement is accomplished using a series of 10 Minute Safety Talks on a variety of subjects such as Hazard Communication, Electrical Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, and Fire Safety. Personnel receive modern safety equipment suited to the tasks that they are assigned to perform. Employees receive incentives that motivate them to perform their jobs in a manner that demonstrates the highest regard for safety. Work performed at a customer’s facility is always preceded by a Pre-Work Hazard Analysis which helps work proceed without incident from inception.
